O Holden...where art thou????

My friend Maggie is here visiting for a few days! We've had fun playing and snuggling with everyone!

The other morning, mom gave us a very important search and rescue mission to find Holden!

We think he might be hiding in this blankety lump somewhere...

AH HAAAAH! We smell him!!!!

Back up! Look...we have evidence!!!

FEETS!!!

Silly Holden is sleeping SIDEWAYS and his feets are poking out of the blankety lump!!! WAKE UP HOLDEN! Time to play!!!!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Christmas part deux

As promised...the continuation of Christmas here with the peeps and I!

Christmas morning started off with Holden kindly waiting until 7:30 to come get us out of the big cloud bed. He took me downstairs and showed me what Santa Paws left in my stocking!!!

There were a LOT of presents to open! We must have all been very good this year!

Santa left THIS to "S-Dog and peeps"

Hahahaha! Mom said that I look like Triumph the Insult Comic Dog with my chewie/cigar in my mouth!

What the heck is in here??? It's so HEAVY...

It's a black pug statue!!! He's VERY heavy so he is a bookend in our bookcase now!

I gave Holden new SOCKS since I like to chew on them (and make HOLES in them!)

TWELVE new pair! WHOOHOO!

Check out this cool big stuffed BULLDOG that I got from Mommy and Daddy!

His name is "Beauregard". I'm not sure if he's "humpworthy" yet.

Holden had a nice surprise from mom...

A (very hard to get!) TICKET to the COLTS GAME against the NY Jets!!! WHOOHOO! (Daddy has the other ticket...he unwrapped it for his birthday!)

We also unwrapped this sweet ornament from Mimi and Pa in AZ...

It's a little puggy on the word JOY! How appropriate!

It's been a JOY spending so much time with my peeps and friends! Everyone has time to visit and share lots of yummies. The house looks so pretty with all of the trees and lights. I think this is my favorite time of year!

T'was the day before Christmas....

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a very nice Christmas and that Santa Paws was good to ALL of you (even Hank and Pearl and all the rest of you who left "presents" of your own under the Christmas tree!)

Mom said we have "a buttload" (I think that's a LOT) of pictures to share, so we decided to post in installments to get caught up. We're starting with Christmas Eve.

TWO packages were in our mailbox, both for MEEEEE!!!! Here's mom helping me with the first one...from JANIE (our Mail lady!)

"WHAAAAAAT is it mom???"
(***Mom's note*** Yeah...my hair is a LOT darker than it was...those stupid colors on the box are never what they seem!!!!)

How sweet! Janie gave me a new Santa stuffie, some rawhide treats and a cute little picture frame with MOI in it that says TOP DOG!

"COME ON lady! Use those opposable thumbs!!!!"

Thank you so much Janie! We love it and we love having YOU for our MailLady!

The next package was from Heather and Harry Pugalicious! (and was a TOTAL surprise!)

Heh heh...notice the "Salinger Pug ESQ." on the address label!

Daddy used his opposable thumbs to open it for me...

"HURRY UUUUP! What IS it???"

There was a whole BUNCH of stuff inside! Some treats and a new christmas bone stuffie for me, a funny magnet and coaster for the peeps and THIS......

A Christmas Puggie SNOWGLOBE!!!!! How PRETTY!!!!

Thank you so much Heather and Harry! You are both so sweet and we send you both a zillion hugs and kisses!

The rest of our Christmas Eve was so much fun! I hung out here with Mom, Dad, Holden and Holden's dad (Doug) and then LOOK who dropped by to visit and bring CAKE BALLS!!!

It was Reggie and Dallas' family (MINUS Reggie and Dallas). Julie brought me a nice chewie (and that's her son James in the picture too!).
Thanks for coming by guys!!!!

Later, Heather came by with my boyfriend Pugsley, his sister Low Rider Lola and a nice plate of daddy's favorite cookies (chocolate oatmeal no bakes!). We all sat nicely for treats!

We all ran crazy and wore ourselves out after this picture!

It was getting late and according to Norad...Santa was entering US airspace! Holden mixed up a batch of reindeer food (oatmeal and glitter! YUM!) and sprinkled it in the driveway....

Is Santa Paws going to bring me anything? I think I've been a good Pug this year!!!

Installment TWO coming tomorrow!!!!! Stay tuned!

OH...and regarding my Christmas message in our last post...mom says to try it again. She thinks the system was just overly busy on Christmas Eve with all of the other doggies and kitties sending messages to their friends too!

Mom forgot the farkakte camera, but jump on over to Hank and Molly's blog for a good recap of our vist! We'll just tell you that we went for a very special screening of a very heartwarming Christmas show...

Here are the three trays of finished cookies...
Tray 1

Date pinwheels, pecan tassie bars and Ginger molasses cookies

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today is Daddy's birthday!!!! We've been celebrating all weekend and he took today off from work, so we're letting him sleep in.

Here I am helping him blow out his candle on his birthday cake!

Make a wish Daddy!!!!

Don't worry...I didn't get any of the chocolate/puggy poison cake. I got a gingerbread doggie cookie instead!

Mom copied the ruffled top of this cake from one she saw a lady make with Julia Child (click here to see it). Daddy wanted to Indy Blogger fave...the AYFKM chocolate/buttercream cake. Nom nom nom nom!

Mom and I are going to rerun Daddy's birthday post from last year because we love the pictures so much!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!!!! I love you!

Hangin' with Hank and O'Mally

Hi everyone! Look who came over to visit the other day!!!!

HANK

and MOLLY O'MALLY!

Of course Aunt Sarah came too, but she and mom just spent the whole time running their yappers.

We exchanged Christmas presents! Look what they got for me!

A talking Mr. Bill stuffie! (OHHH NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!)

...and my very own SPA SET! Monogrammed towels (S for Salinger) and a nice soothing candle!

Boy...do they know me or WHAT? Perfect gift! Thanks guys!

We gave Aunt Sarah (and Scott) some truffles and then we made treats for Hank and O'Mally....gingerbread for Hank and soft giblet muffins for O'Mally. Sorry...no pics.

The moms had some lunch while we pugs stood there salivating and starving.

Hey lady, are you gonna finish that???

After lunch we all played together and tried to steal Christmas cookies.

Mom got all huggy with Hank

Hank acts like a tough guy...but he's really an old softie that loves hugs and snuggles!

Thanks for coming over and for the cool gifts guys!!! Mom says we have to do it again soon!

Freakshow Friday

Oh HI mom! I'm just sunning myself here in the door with my Pug stuffie Phoebe!

What's that you say? Phoebe's EAR? Well why would I know anything about Phoebe's ear and the trends she chooses to follow?

Yeah...it does look like she's been using ear gauges....

Innnnnteresting...

I'll bet she's been hanging out with THESE folks...

Too bad Phoebe doesn't wear clothes...I have the perfect gift card idea for her for Christmas!

CLEARLY the girl is a freak!

Happy Friday everyone!!!

Santa Paws!

Hi everyone! Yesterday, Mom and Dad got me all dressed in my red Santa shirt and Christmas tie and then I got to go for a car ride....to THIS place!

OOOHHHH BOY! I LOOOOOOVE PetSmart!!!!

Normally we walk around and visit the C*TS and birds, but THIS time I got to visit SANTA PAWS!!!!

This was a very important visit because I had to stress to Santa what a good Puggy I've been all year and how IMPORTANT it is that he bring me THIS...

Mommy and I can be TWINS!

After I visited with Santa, we walked over to the training center where I took all of my classes. I heard a familiar voice and got ALL excited!!! It was my trainer RICK!

It was so good to see him! I gave him snuggles and a kiss and told him I'd missed him! He even gave me some yummy treats because I did a good "sit" for him.

So after all that fun stuff...I KNEW there had to be a catch!!! Mom hauled me back to the GROOMING SALON and I got a nail grinding. I don't mind the dremmel thing as much as I do clipping, so it only took THREE people to get the job done.

My other buddy Jason is off to the side and didn't get in the picture...but trust me...it takes THREE people to give me a pawticure!!!!

Mom gave me some cheese on the ride home and I made sure to leave lots of Pug-snooter on the car windows as a thank you.

What did all of YOU do this weekend?

Pajama humiliation

Ok everyone...I can't believe I'm actually posting these pictures, but I'm only doing it to show the latest in the saga that is the humiliation I am forced to endure at the hands of my family.

Mom got the bright idea that I need PAJAMAS to keep me warm at night...SO she got in cahoots with Debbie (a.k.a. Punchy) and next thing I knew, I looked like THIS...

Dad calls this getup my "Union underwear" and mom is all squealy about the "door" thing in the back!

Now I ask you....WHY in the name of all that is holy should I, Salinger The Pug, endure these indignaties??? Haven't I been the perfect companion dog?

My only option is to speak with Santa Paws at PetSmart and beg him to leave COAL for my evil people.

***Mom's note*** Ok, SERIOUSLY...how CUTE does he look in these??? You can go visit Punchy over at PugPosessed OR go check out her ETSY SHOP to see about keeping your puggy warm and adorable this winter too!!!!

Man-date with Pugsley!

My hot boyfriend Pugsley came over last night (with his mom and Lola) because we hadn't seen each other in a while!

We had a LOT of catching up to do!!!! Here we are chatting about it...

Mom is LOLing because she says I sound like Snoopy in the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving episode when he gets in the fight with the lawn chair!

Sorry...we digress!

ANYWAY....after Pugsley and I talked for a bit, we got down to some KISSING!!!

We're glad that our parents are supportive of our "alternative lifestyle"....but we aren't sure what Lola's take on this is.....

This is like one of those "I Spy" pictures...black puggy on a black sofa on Heather's lap who is wearing black pants!

Happy Thursday everyone....we hope you get to spend time with the person/pug you love the most too!

Decking the halls...

FA LA LA LA LA...LA LA LA LAAAAAAAAA! (AAAAHHH...MOM! Stop singing!!!!)

Mom, Dad and Holden have been busy lugging boxes, totes and putting up these big honkin' TREES all over the house and using all kinds of bad words when discussing outdoor lighting! I seem to remember this same type of thing happening the last TWO years right around this time too! Hmmmm.

Holden took me around to explain what each tree was for...

1. This is the big main family tree...

I'm saying "HOLY CRAP THIS TREE IS TAAAAAALL!"

It's NINE feet tall and FULL of ornaments that mom, dad, Holden, Will and Lizz have both had since they were tiny kids. It's quite a collection!

2. Holden and I are in front of Dad's CITADEL TREE in the study!

Dad went to college at The Citadel in South Carolina and has collected a lot of Citadel ornaments over the years. We think it's cool that his old shako is the topper!

3. Now I'm upstairs showing you Mom's LYRE TREE

When mom was in college, she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and their symbol is a lyre. She has collected lyre ornaments ever since then and is now up to SIXTY ONE different lyres! WOW!

4. Next, Holden took me into the kitchen to explain the newest addition to our tree collection....the RED tree!

It's only 4 feet tall, so we decided to put it in the kitchen and hang all of our FOOD related ornaments on it! YUM!
(Mom says THANK YOU to dad for getting his butt out of bed the day after Christmas last year and schlepping to WalMart to pick this tree up for her for $5 because she was yammering about it ALLLL last year!)

5. This tree is kind of cool....it's ONLY used to display our CURRENT ornaments that are new this year!

You remember our Thanksgiving post about our family tradition after dinner...right? Everyone gets a new ornament that somehow is special for THEM only. Next year, they'll go on the big family tree and the NEW ornaments will go on this little tree.

SO...you can see that we've REAAALLY decked the halls this year! Mom says it's to make up for the lameness of last year when the house was done up as "Christmas Lite" because she was recovering from a little nip/tuck! (click here for a gross pic)

Ok, so OUR halls are decked....we hope you'll share YOURS with us too!!!!

Blogger help and extreme laziness

(YAAAWN!) Hi everyone! I hope everyone had a great long Turkey Day weekend! Daddy was home with me for FIVE WHOLE DAYS! We kept ourselves stuffed with turkey (and tryptophan) and did a LOT of this.....

Here we are after I asked him to help me blog. Things started out ok, but then we both fell asleep....

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ....I guess Mom can help me blog on Monday when things get back to normal around here!

Being Daddy's companion for five days is VERRRRY hard work!

So thankful...

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!! I hope you all had a great day and hope that all of your hoomans shared their yummy foodables with you all!

Mom got all Martha Stewarty on us and busted out the GOOD china! Man...she was SERIOUS!

The napkins are even folded up like farkakte turkeys!!!

Will and Lizz came over with their mom, Peggy. I think she is in love with me now (WHO could resist me?)

As you can see...I'm all dressed up in my best "eating attire".

FINALLY...Mom pulled the turkey out of the oven...only to cover it and tease me with it for another half hour or so. Some crap about it having to "rest".

COME ON LADY! Give me a hunk of that bad boy!!!!

As I stood there in a puddle of my own drool...Dad carved the turkey slower than molasses in friggin' January...

THEN....it was time......

O....M....G!!!!

NOM NOM NOM NOMMITY NOM NOM NOM!!!!

After dinner, we have a cool family tradition where EVERYONE gets a brand new christmas ornament to hang on the tree (which will be put up tomorrow). Lizz helped me change into my CHRISTMAS tie for the big unwrapping...

Here I am taking my turn opening my new ornament...

To: S-Dog...hahahahaa

HEY...it's a PUG!

Cool...he looks kind of like me...just not as handsome!

The OTHER great family tradition we have is to watch the DOG SHOW as we're digesting! This year, we recorded it and watched it a bit later, and were absolutely HORRIFIED that the Pug didn't win Best In Show!

Stupid judge must have been all sacked out on Tryptophan from too much turkey to do their job properly....the Pug was ROBBED!!!!

We hope you all had a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving and please know that we're SO thankful to have friends and family as great as all of you! Reading your blogs and comments just make our day!

GOBBLE GOBBLE!!!!

Vet visit and well wishes for Sexy Penny!

Hi everyone!

Mom hauled me in to see the Vet again this morning (she swears she doesn't have Munchausesn by Proxy...she's just a freak about keeping me healthy). I've had these gross cysty looking things on my chin that won't go away and one ruptured and BLED last night which put her RIGHT over the edge!

LOOK...(now look away...I'm HIDEOUS!)

Dr. Graves and one of my favorite techs Lisa both checked me out and said that it's just some folliculitis that has developed a staph infection. I don't have mast cell tumors or anything horrible (WHEW!). Dr. Graves gave me a LASER TREATMENT to kill the bacteria deep down in my chin to help clear up my infection. Check me out!!!

Cool-breeze chillin' with the Pug!!!!

Mom said I was lucky and even told Dr. Graves that she'd volunteer to be a guinea pig to see if the laser would do anything for crow's feet around human eyes...we'll see how that goes.

I have to take antibiotics for 10 days and I have some special medicated wipes for my chin to help clear up the yuckiness. Mom got me some PEGETABLES to make up for the torture.

Mmmm...Pegetables!!!

On a completely different note...we want to direct you over to see our friend Penny and her awesome mom Dana. Penny is a very fabulous, beefy and SEXY Pug who has very suddenly lost her eyesight due to something called SARD (Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration). We are thankful to learn that she doesn't have any underlying conditions (like cancer or a tumor) that could have caused this. We know that Penny loves her whippy cream, so here is a HUGE can of it just for her....

Better make it the LIGHT variety...Penny's mom said that her doc said she's a little TOO beefy and sexy ;-)

Happy Tuesday everyone! We hope everyone is healthy and gearing up for Turkey Day!

Hoarding problem?

Just LOOK at my awesome stash of spent butcher bones!!!!!

I like scraping my teeth on them and hauling them upstairs and dumping them on the Big Cloud Bed in the middle of the night! (Mom's note....imagine the THUNK these suckers make at 3am when being dumped on the foot of one's bed!)

Mom says that I need to call A&E and ask to be on their show "Hoarders"

I don't know what she's all riled up about....I NEED MY BONES!!!!

Happy Friday everyone!!!!

Thursday thievery

Hi everyone!

It's cold and rainy here in Indy today and mom is being all boring and WORKING (the NERVE!). She put the Game Show Network on for me and made me a "puggy nest" on the couch with Holden's sleeping bag, but I wasn't feeling it.....so I decided to wait until she got up and her headband slipped off her head and STEAL IT!

BWWWAAAAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAA! It's MINE now!

See....I make it impossible for her to resist playing with me!

Happy Thursday everyone!
